Honed over the past two decades of practice and study, my bodywork & movement sessions are individually designed and holistically-focused.
My introduction to hands-on-healing began intuitively via an innate curiosity about how the body works. Intrigued by our human function and form, I began studying anatomy in high school and enjoy learning about anatomy and functional movement at every opportunity. I am endlessly enthralled with the myriad lenses through which to view form function, movement, injury recovery. I began practicing yoga in 1998 and have found great value in Kundalini, Vinyasa and Yin Yogas, as well as meditation, pranayama, and chanting.
As part of my Master of Science degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine, I completed a full course of study in Tui Na (Chinese Sports Massage). Promptly after graduation in 2002, I studied Thai Massage at ITM in Chiang Mai, Thailand, an experience which integrated my knowledge of yoga, massage therapy, and spiritual connection. I continue to study in Thailand and around the world with seasoned master teachers; most recently completing study in Chi Nei Tsang (abdominal organ massage) - which addressed important and often overlooked elements of organ function, internal connective tissue, postural muscles, and breathing capacity.
My bodywork practice incorporates elements of Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue, Thai Massage, Myofascial Release, Active Release Techniques, Abdominal Massage, and Postural Release.
Receiver participation and education is an important piece for long-lasting results. I offer guidance on how to move, what to stretch, postural hacks, nutrition, and general well-being.
SOME SESSIONS INVOLVE PARTICIPANT EFFORT, OTHERS ARE MORE PASSIVE. THE BEST TECHNIQUE, THE BEST PRESSURE, IS ONE THAT MATCHES THE RECEIVER'S CAPACITY.
